Zespol Szkol Ponadgimnazjalnych w Drawsku Pomorskim

ZSP in Drawsko Pom. is an upper-secondary school and it is situated in the West-Pomeranian province in a town counting about 12 Th. citizens. About 30% of the pupils come from the rural areas, and about 10% from the dysfunctional families. ZSP in Drawsko Pom. is the school implementing the general and vocational education. There are 44 teachers employed there. 420, aged 16-19, pupils attend that school. The youth studies in the following classes: humanistic, general, mathematic-IT and natural science. ICT tools and activating (simulating) methods are used during lessons. Afterschool activities (subject and sport ones) are conducted. Moreover, extra tuitions and optional classes are conducted there. The school wants to participate in the project because: – the pupils dispose of low level of key skills and competences in scope of foreign languages (English and German) and ICT, – the pupils do not have motivation to learn foreign languages and use ICT tools, the pupils are jeopardised by professional exclusion due to lack of possibilities to develop their skills because of limited access to the knowledge sources and information-communication assets, – the teachers do not have sufficient knowledge about ways of using multimedia and ICT tools in learning foreign languages. The school ‘Europe: Many languages, one tongue’ project coordinator will be the English teacher – JOANNA PEDRYCZ, and her deputy will be the German teacher – DOROTA KORDALSKA. The school has got a wide experience in implementation of the projects financed from the EU means. (COMENIUS -Partner School Projects – “More tolerance in united Europe”. The projects “School of Success”, “Youth Agribusiness Academy”, “I learn in practice” were implemented within the project Comenius in the years 2011 – 2013. At present, the school has started implementation of the project within The Regional Operational Programme (2017- 2020). The school has also experience connected with elaboration and implementation of the German-language projects consisting in international cooperation between EU schools. The school cooperated with the schools in Austria, Estonia, Germany and Lithuania. The school has carried out the tasks in scope of cooperation with Jugendwerk, which consists in Polish and German youth exchange (from 2002), too. Most of the teachers employed in ZSP have the basic English knowledge, and the foreign language teachers have fluent English and German knowledge. The teaching staff will bring the following competences into project implementation: – subject knowledge, professionalism and many years` experience, – knowledge of activating teaching methods and ICT tools, – ability to organise work with a pupil and to plan implementation of the tasks on time, – ability to work and communicate effectively – motivation to introduce and use innovative methods of teaching in a secondary school knowledge about culture and history of EU countries.
